Vote for projects with a real impact and empower people to rewrite the scenario of their life

During 25 years of civil war in Sri Lanka water wells were used to hide explosives. Without access to water the local people had to flee.

Means are gathered by Citizens’ contributions in order to fund a sustainable project.

A majority of Citizens voted for ‘the wells’ clearance project in Sri Lanka to be carried out by the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD).

The FSD has the local capacity to clear wells that remain too dangerousto be used by the villagers.

A specialized team of FSD cleared five wells in Kambavil village in the Mullaitivu Disctrict

Finally, people could return to their homes and repopulate the village.

Quotation from people

Poverty Reduction

Durably improve local economic activities in order to help people to afford basic human needs, such as clean water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter. Poverty is an important reason for why learners drop-out of school.

Mental Health & Well-Being

Address well-being deterrents such as depression, post traumatic stress disease or social disintegration. Human suffering extends beyond material poverty and is widespread in the technologically developped world.

Environmental Sustainability

Safeguard biodiversity and protect the environment over the next several decades so that people's needs of the present are met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Education & Training

Educate and train people in order to better serve the other 3 target domains of the organisation. If they can’t access education, people's opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty or understand environmental issues drastically declines.
